Hi I want to share a story today that might just change everything you believe about thyroid health. I want to talk about this now as I often see people online repeating this myth about Hypothyroidism or Hashimoto's… “There's nothing you can do. This is a lifelong condition. You just have to accept it” Your Doctor may even have said this to you… That no diet or lifestyle changes will do anything to improve your symptoms. That you just have to accept feeling exhausted, foggy, and unwell. Leaving you feel lost, defeated and hopeless. I'm here to tell you:This. Is. NOT. TRUE.

Meet John (name changed), a man who was written off by conventional medicine but took his health into his own hands—and completely transformed his life.
John was…
He was
His turning point?
Two simple dietary changes that most doctors would dismiss out of hand.
John was determined to take his health into his own hands.
A day when he felt particularly awful after eating a gluten heavy pizza gave him a clue about what to do.
He knew he had to take massive action to safeguard his future health.
To stop himself sliding further down the hill into deeper illness and decline.
So in desperation he tried cutting out two things:
{Notably, eliminating gluten and grains and dairy is a keystone of following an ancestral paleo/primal diet. This is what made a huge difference to people in the research I mentioned - link at the bottom of the page}
Within DAYS, he experienced:
❤️
Restored energy
❤️
Reduced bloating
❤️
Clearer thinking
Within MONTHS, he was seeing:
Normalised thyroid blood tests
And get this: His medical consultant confirmed his blood work was normal, after repeated testing to check it wasn’t a fluke as he was so surprised at the change and wondered if the test was wrong!.
John was eventually able to lower his medication to a tiny dose and is hoping to stop it completely soon under professional medical guidance.
🚨 Very Important Note: John didn't just quit his meds randomly.
He worked closely with his healthcare team, making dietary changes first and then collaboratively adjusting his treatment as his thyroid function improved. It's incredibly important to do it this way so that the Doctor can assess how well the thyroid is functioning.
Do not stop, lower or alter any medication on your own - that is very dangerous.
I wanted to tell you about this as I hear so many people feeling defeated after being told that there's nothing they can do for themselves to feel better.
In fact Doctors often discourage them from trying diet and lifestyle changes for themselves.
But John's story shows that this doesn't necessarily need to be the case.
Trying the simple and easy diet and lifestyle changes of an ancestral diet can have dramatic and positive results.
I personally know that this ancestral Paleo/Primal approach WORKS AMAZINGLY WELL for those of us with hypothyroidism and/or Hashimoto’s.

The Power of Finding Your Thyroid Tribe Hey there, I wanted to share something deeply personal with you today. When I was really, really ill with hypothyroidism and thyroid cancer, I found myself in a truly dark place. Both mentally and physically, I was struggling in ways that felt impossible to describe. I remember asking my MacMillan nurse about support groups. There were groups for all kinds of conditions—cancer support circles, chronic illness meetups—but when I asked about one...
If I could sit beside you right now... Dear friend, Maybe you’ve just walked out of the doctor’s office.Still reeling.Still trying to make sense of what you’ve been told. Because I need you to know something, and I need you to hear it in your bones: You do not have to accept feeling like this. You do not have to accept...
Hi Beautiful. Why an Indian Takeaway Might Be the Perfect Hypothyroid-Friendly Meal I had the most delicious dinner out with my husband last night—our favourite Indian restaurant, all warm lighting and comforting smells. And as I sat there, tucking into my lamb chole malabar, I couldn’t help thinking… We’ve been sold such a narrow definition of “healthy,” haven’t we? The Myth: Takeaways Are Always Unhealthy So many women I work with feel guilt around ordering in or going out to eat....
