🤔 Where are you in your thyroid journey? (I remember feeling so lost...)

Hi

I was thinking about you today, and I wanted to share something personal that might resonate with your own experience.

I vividly remember sitting in that doctor's office, hearing those words: "Your TSH is a bit raised."

I walked out feeling completely lost, my head spinning with questions.

What does the thyroid even do?

What does this mean for my life?

Maybe you've been there too.

Here's what I see happening all too often (tell me if this sounds familiar):

You start with hope. Finally, a diagnosis! Finally, some answers!

The doctor prescribes that little pill, and you think,

"This is it. I'm going to feel like myself again."

But then... weeks pass.

Maybe months. And something doesn't feel quite right.

Maybe you're still exhausted. Maybe your hair is still falling out. Maybe the brain fog hasn't lifted.

And when you mention this to your doctor, you get that frustrating response: "But your labs are normal now."

That's often when it hits you – that sinking feeling that you're mostly on your own with this.

That the "magic pill" isn't so magical after all.

I see so many women in my Facebook groups at this exact point, feeling lost and unsure where to turn next.

But here's what I want you to know:

This is not the end of your story.

It's actually where your real healing journey can begin.

I'm curious about where you are right now in your thyroid journey. Would you take a moment to click the answer that best describes you? (This helps me create more relevant content for exactly where you're at.)

Key Takeaways:

  1. Feeling lost after diagnosis is completely normal
  2. Standard treatment isn't always enough for optimal health
  3. Taking charge of your own health journey is often necessary (and empowering!)

Your Next Steps:

  1. Start keeping a symptom journal to track how you're really feeling
  2. Learn one new thing about your thyroid condition this week
  3. Write down your questions before your next doctor's appointment

Here's the thing – and I wish someone had told me this sooner – feeling better with thyroid disease isn't just about taking a pill and trusting that everything will work out.

It's about becoming your own health advocate and understanding your unique body.

You might feel alone right now, but you're not. And more importantly, you're more capable than you realize of taking control of your health journey.

I'd love to hear where you're at – hit reply or click your answer in the poll above.

Your experience matters, and it helps me create better resources for our community.

Take care

Hi Beautiful! You know what really lights a fire under me? When people are told there's nothing they can do about their autoimmune thyroid condition, Hashimoto's “Just take the tablets,” they’re told. “Diet won’t make a difference. Just accept it” I’ve been saying for years that this simply isn’t true—and now, I’ve got some solid research to back it up. 👉 A new study looked at how ancestral or ‘paleo / primal-style’ diets impact autoimmune thyroid disease… and the results were pretty amazing....

Hi Beautiful! As I was out earlier, I noticed the first daffodils and crocuses starting to peek through the soil. The air was mild, the sky was clear, and for the first time in months, it felt like winter was finally loosening its grip. For those of us with hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s, this shift in seasons can feel like a real turning point. Winter can be especially tough when your thyroid isn’t functioning optimally. Low thyroid levels can make it incredibly hard to stay warm, and for...

thyroid and neurodivergent

Hi Beautiful!, This week is Neurodiversity Celebration Week (March 17-23, 2025), and there's something I've noticed in our community that I think deserves more attention. I ran a poll in our Facebook group a while back asking about whether members were either diagnosed or thought they were on the neurodiversity spectrum. Amazingly 61% of those responding either have a diagnosis or suspect they might have ADHD, autism, or both. That's not a coincidence, and today I want to talk about why. PLUS...
