Hey beautiful, I had to share something that happened in our Facebook group this week because honestly, it's got me fired up – and I know you'll relate. A new member joined us, and her story is one I've heard a thousand times before. She KNOWS something's wrong. She's got every classic hypothyroid symptom in the book – the crushing fatigue, brain fog, hair falling out (including those telltale outer eyebrows), weight that won't budge no matter what she does. The whole package. But here's the kicker: she keeps going to her doctor, and they keep running ONE test – TSH – and telling her she's "fine." because the ‘labs are in range’ Meanwhile, they've become obsessed with her high cholesterol levels and want to put her on statins. Can you see the insanity here?High cholesterol is literally one of the FIRST signs of thyroid dysfunction. But instead of investigating WHY her cholesterol is high, they're treating the symptom and ignoring the root cause. And only testing TSH so they will never get to the root of the problem. Thyroid issues. It's like trying to diagnose a car problem by only checking if the engine turns on, without looking at how well it actually runs. And anyone in this position? They start to gaslight themselves. "Well, the doctor says I'm fine, so maybe I'm just being dramatic. Maybe I'm just lazy. Maybe this is just getting older." NO. Just no. Here's What You Need to Know:TSH alone is NOT enough. It's an incomplete picture, and frankly, it's medical laziness. You wouldn't accept a mechanic who only checked one thing under your hood, so why accept it from your doctor? What you actually need testing:
Plus - to get a Hashimotos diagnosis
IMPORTANT The relationship between T4 and T3 is everything. You can have "normal" TSH and T4 but terrible T3 conversion, leaving you feeling like absolute garbage while your doctor pats you on the head and says you're fine. Your Action Steps:
The medical system has failed so many of us when it comes to thyroid health. It's not fair, it's not right, but it's reality. Which means WE have to be our own advocates. Don't let anyone – not even a doctor with fancy degrees – make you doubt what you're experiencing in your own body. Your symptoms are real. Your struggle is valid. And you deserve answers. Keep pushing, beautiful. You've got this. With love and fire P.S. Medichecks have a bank holiday special offer of 20% off thyroid tests. It ends this evening I think so if you are going to grab a thyroid test its best to do it now to catch this. Click below to catch it. PLEASE NOTE - I am NOT a Doctor or Medical Professional of any kind. |

Hey beautiful, I've been thinking a lot about something lately, and I just had to share it with you because I know it's going to resonate deeply. 😔 You know that feeling when you're sitting in a meeting, and someone suggests something you completely disagree with, but instead of speaking up, you just... nod along? 😔 Or when your partner asks what you want for dinner for the third time this week, and you say "whatever you want" even though you're craving something specific? If you're nodding...
Hi beautiful. I had an experience this week that I just had to share with you. I took my daughter (she's 21) to the doctor's appointment I'd spent nearly 3 weeks trying to book. On the drive there, I asked her if she was prepared. Did she have a plan? A list of symptoms? Anything written down? Her response? "No." 🤦 Despite me asking her for the past week to prepare (and being the typical 21-year-old who doesn't want to listen to her mum), she was just rocking up half-asleep with absolutely no...
