Hi Reader, I need to have an honest conversation with you today, straight from my heart to yours. Something I've been seeing in our Facebook community has been weighing heavily on my mind, and as someone who truly cares about your wellbeing (and your wallet!), I can't stay quiet about it. Here's the thing - I completely understand the frustration of going to your doctor, being handed a Levothyroxine prescription, and still not feeling like yourself. Trust me, I get it. When we're not getting the answers we need from conventional medicine, it's natural to look elsewhere. And that's exactly what many marketers are counting on. I've been watching with growing concern as more and more "thyroid miracle products" pop up on TikTok and social media. You know the ones - those expensive supplements with fancy thyroid-themed names that make big promises. But here's what they're not telling you: Many of these products are simply basic cheap vitamins and minerals repackaged at premium prices. Sometimes, they even contain ingredients like kelp (high in iodine) that could actually be problematic for some of us with Hashimoto's. Just recently, I saw someone in our group asking about an expensive grounding mat being marketed for thyroid health. Another member bravely shared that she had bought one and saw zero improvement. It breaks my heart seeing our community's hope being exploited like this. Here's what I want you to know:
Before you reach for your credit card, please:
Remember, you deserve real, evidence-based solutions for your thyroid health. Not expensive gimmicks that drain your bank account while leaving your symptoms unchanged. I share this not to discourage you, but because I care deeply about every single person in our community. Your health journey is challenging enough without falling prey to marketing schemes that profit from your desire to feel better. Keep asking questions. Keep seeking answers. But please, protect yourself (and your wallet) by approaching "miracle" thyroid products with healthy skepticism. Here for you always P.S. If you're ever unsure about a product you're considering, feel free to ask in our free Facebook community here. We're all in this together, and sharing our experiences helps everyone make more informed decisions.
PLEASE NOTE - I am NOT a Doctor or Medical Professional of any kind. |

Hi Reader, I joined a group last week that I had no business being in. A peptide group. Free to join. I went in for a nosy, because peptides are the thing everyone's talking about right now, and I wanted to see what the fuss was about. I didn't post anything. Just scrolled. And then I found a thread that made me stop. Someone had written in about a friend. The friend has Hashimoto's. And she was asking, quite innocently, what peptides might be good for her, on top of the medication she's...
Hi Reader, I read something this week that made me genuinely happy. And then it made me a little sad. And then it made me want to write this email. NICE – the body that sets clinical guidelines for the NHS – has just announced draft guidance recommending that people with PMOS (previously known as PCOS - Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) should receive annual reviews. Not just a quick check-in on the main symptoms. A proper, structured review. Covering the knock-on effects. The wider picture. The...
Hi Reader, I want to talk about something that's been sitting heavily with me this week. Not because it's happened yet. But because it might. And for those of us already living with a long-term health condition, the implications feel very personal. You've probably heard that GP services in England are in crisis. Waiting times are longer. Appointments are shorter. And for so many of us, the experience of actually being heard – really heard – when something is wrong has become something we...
